Oh, slow cookers are fab! You stick something into a pot at the start of the day, forget all about it and take something tasty out at the end of the day. They turn roasts into one of the quickest meals you can do. We stuck a chicken into our aged overly small slow cooker in at about 11am, and at 7pm we took out a perfectly cooked succulent bird. Nothing needed to tart it up apart from some steamed veg and a bit of chicken and cider gravy. It took no time at all and resulted in virtually no washing up… and the left overs? They’re in the slow cooker right now with some garlic, onion, herbs and red wine – so we’ll eat well tomorrow too.
